So here's a call to action for all you book lovers. On April 21, go visit your local independent bookstore and buy something. Tell them why you appreciate them being in your community.
Thanks to Booklust for reminding me of this important day! But as she says..."But really, we should keept April 21st in our hearts every day, and remember to Think Independent, Read Independent, and Buy Independent."

Thanks for the heads up! I'm blessed by having 4 or 5 independent booksellers within walking distance. Ahhh...
So very jealous! Mind you, I do have two within walking distance but only one is a general bookseller.
Good idea! I didn't even realize there was a Day for that.
I'm pretty good about buying independent, mostly because I've got....five that I can think of right off hand in my area. But only one within walking distance.
Nor did I! (realize that there was an Independent Bookseller Day!). I think there are quite a few in my area - will have to pay them a visit. Bummer that I just splurged at "Chapters"!
now that's an excellent idea!
Man, I wonder if there's a day like this in the States???
